Worship
Sunday Worship, 11:00 am
You will be welcome in worship at Summit UMC at any time just as you are, without worrying about dress code or the need to meet the expectations of others.
The style of worship at Summit is fairly traditional, though informal, with a lot of singing. Announcements, songs and responsive readings are projected on a large screen in the front of the Sanctuary, although you are welcome to use the hymnals if you want to see the music. We use the United Methodist Hymnal and two newer worship resources called The Faith We Sing and Worship & Song, which have many fine contemporary hymns as well as some old standards and spirituals not found in the hymnal. Other resources are sometimes used.
Our choir provides special choral music September through May, and soloists and other groups sometimes perform during the summer.
Special services are provided at high holy day times like Christmas Eve and Easter. Ash Wednesday is observed each year to begin the Lenten season. During Holy Week, just before Easter, there are services or special activities on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
